TerraFab

Light-routing optics & interference challenge.

The Physics Department at GEMS New Millennium School proudly presents TerraFab, a sub-event of AstroNexus’26. Designed for Grade 7–8 students, this challenge introduces participants to hands-on optical engineering, light paths, and spatial problem-solving using modular mirror and sensor arrays.

Students will explore light behavior by constructing precision optical paths, manipulating angles of incidence to bypass physical roadblocks, and aligning beams to hit target sensors accurately without signal loss.

45 Minutes

  1. Setup & Design (45 min) Assemble and align mirrors, splitters, and grid blocks within the allocated time.
  2. Signal Test Energize the light system and execute the target beam routing through the maze.
  3. Judge Interview & Science Viva Present the optical configuration to judges and answer core conceptual questions.
